Ceramics are born from raw clay, shaped by the creator's hand.
Born into a family of farmers in Poland's coastal region of Kashubia, caring for soil and hands-on labour has always been woven into my life along with a reverence for nature and its potent forces. With their own endemic language and rich folklore, the people of the region are one of Poland's few remaining ethnic minorities, a fact that I like to embrace in my creative work.
With a degree in philosophy in hand, I started gaining experience as a fashion stylist, eventually becoming an in-house fashion editor at the Polish edition of Vogue magazine. Following a lay-off in the heyday of the pandemic, my self-taught endeavours in ceramics under Grôpk label are a journey of self-discovery, putting down roots and seeking creative independence. My works, at once humble and intricately sinuous, are a quiet celebration of nature's imperfections and an artisan's hand.
